Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Washington University in St. Louis. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide primary and specialty medical care to patients in a variety of settings, working under physician oversight as required by state regulation and within the scope of practice defined by your specialty certification, hospital by-laws, and collaborative practice agreement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including obtaining patient history, performing patient assessment, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, and developing and implementing patient-centered plans of care.
  • Manage health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
  • Provide counseling and education to patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options, and community resources.
  • Monitor and ensure accuracy of patient medical records, maintain all required reports, records, statistics, and ensure a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families.
Requirements
  • APN licensure or ability to successfully obtain licensure within three months of date of hire.
  • Certain/additional certifications may be necessary based on area of specialty.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
