Job Summary:
Mammography Imaging Specialists at Infojini are responsible for performing high-quality mammography examinations in accordance with ACR requirements. This role involves assisting with breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, breast localization, and other radiologic guided procedures within the Breast Center.

  • Diagnostic and screening mammographic examinations are performed on adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients in a professional and expedient manner.
  • Mammographic imaging is provided for breast needle localization procedures and stereotactic procedures, including setup and cleanup.
  • Ultrasound guidance is used in procedures, and immobilization devices are provided as needed.
  • Technical factors are selected based on individual patient needs, and equipment is operated for specific procedures.
  • Patient films are identified with the correct name, x-ray number, and marked with the side of the patient and technologist's initials.
  • X-ray film is developed using processing methods.
  • Patient requisitions are completed with technologist's initials, date, number, and film size.
  • Quality control procedures are assisted with, including phantom image, darkroom fog test, screen film contact test, repeat analysis, fixer retention analysis, screen cleanliness, compression test, visual machine checks, processor quality control, view box, and reviewing conditions and darkroom cleanliness, as delegated by the Chief Mammography Technologist.
  • Basic life support education and other patient education are provided, including pre and post-procedure instructions.
  • Cases are prepared for imaging, including charts and films.
  • Statistics are compiled for patient follow-ups, tracking of breast localizations, patient needing biopsies, and ultrasound examinations, and follow-up on positive biopsy reports.
  • Procedures are documented regarding quality control and quality assurance for mammography in compliance with ACR, MQSA, NJ State, and FDA.
  • Pertinent information is documented in the Breast Center chart.
  • Patient needs are identified and care is modified and delivered to meet those needs (e.g., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.).


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years prior experience as a Licensed Mammography Technologist.

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • Must have ARRT.
  • Must obtain mammography certification within the first three months of employment.
  • Must have active Diagnostic Radiography License.
