Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer - Solar Energy

CS Energy, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing value engineering solutions during development, proposal, pre-construction, and construction phases of solar energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with civil and structural engineering firms to obtain detailed civil and structural design packages from third-party vendors/firms that meet all contractual and permitting requirements.
  • Develop single-line and three-line diagrams with required electrical details for solar photovoltaics (PV) systems in accordance with NEC, IEEE, NESC, utility interconnection tariffs, and requirements, and local AHJ as necessary.
  • Coordinate and develop electrical studies such as short circuit, cable ampacity studies, reactive power, lightning assessment, and many more using ETAP or similar software.
  • Lead the project interconnection approval process as the primary point of contact with the interconnecting utilities from the application process through final design approval.
  • Coordinate and obtain SCADA designs for solar PV systems from third-party monitoring companies.
  • Develop technical specifications and scopes of work for engineering firms and contractors.
  • Support vendor and subcontractor solicitation on assigned projects.
  • Coordinate electrical integration and interconnection of energy storage systems.
  • Support the project contracting process by reviewing the technical, testing, commissioning requirements, and providing risk matrix for various technical categories.
  • Mentor and train team members on project design, interconnection, and energy modeling.
Requirements:
  • A Master's degree in Renewable Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field or foreign equivalent.
  • 4 years of experience as a PV Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or in any occupation where electrical engineering experience in PV and BESS was gained, within the solar and energy industry.
  • Experience with SAM, AutoCAD, and PVSYST within the solar and energy industry.
  • Experience with electrical interconnection design and coordination (LV & MV).
  • Experience with medium voltage design and coordination.
  • Experience running desktop analytics to optimize the project basis of design.
  • Experience with DAS/SCADA design and coordination.
  • Experience with ETAP and/or SKM power system analysis software to run electrical studies of projects.
  • Experience providing technical support to the execution team, including reviewing submittals, RFIs, running meetings, and conducting inter-discipline coordination.
