Job Title: Civil Engineer III

Merrick & Company is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer III to join our Water Group in our Greenwood Village, CO office.

Job Summary

We are looking for a talented engineer with experience in design and construction oversight of water and wastewater infrastructure to perform assignments in the analysis and design of water and wastewater systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review working drawings, details, layouts, cost estimates, studies, reports, and work products.
  • Provide construction support and oversight, including administration and limited inspection, document review of designs by others for conformance to design standards.
  • Prepare bid documents, including drawings and specifications, and organize all drawings, reports, calculations, and associated project deliverables.
  • Make sound engineering decisions, exercise initiative, judgment, and knowledge commensurate with the responsibilities of the position.
  • Interface with clients and Local, State, and Federal government agencies, and lead project progress meetings, make project presentations, and provide clear written communications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an A.B.E.T. Accredited School.
  • Required Certifications: P.E. (Professional Engineer) in any state with the ability to obtain licensure in the State of Colorado within 6 months.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience in the design and construction oversight of water and/or wastewater systems.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Colorado Water Distribution System Operator license and/or a Colorado Wastewater Collections System Operator license.
  • Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Experience with water/sanitary sewer modeling, BioWin Modeling, GIS Systems and Programs, water and wastewater systems, and public works design experience with local, State, and Federal governments.
