Progressive Care Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Progressive Care Unit team at Berkshire Medical Center - AA. As a PCU nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill patients requiring close monitoring and frequent assessment.
Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to critically ill patients diagnosed with heart attack, defibrillator or pacemaker implant, or other cardiac conditions.
- Monitor cardiac and other critical vital signs and detect any changes, enabling intervention of life-threatening or emergency situations.
- Initiate and revise patient plans of care based on continuing assessments.
- Include patient teaching and discharge planning in overall care.
- Document nursing interventions and patient response according to hospital policy.
- Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and methods of implementation.
- Practice within the limits of the state's Nurse Practice Act and health care facility and nursing administrative policies.
- Supervise ancillary personnel in their performance of assigned job-related duties.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and rights.
- Maintain and update skills needed for excellence in patient care.
- Administer complex cardiac medications, including titration based on patient vital signs.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing, with current licensure in good standing.
- Minimum of one year of current hospital experience in PCU specialty.
- Evidence of current BLS and ACLS required.
