The Cost Accountant is a key member of the accounting team, responsible for preparing and analyzing accounting reports related to manufacturing processing. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and analyze operating reports, including trend analysis and plant performance metrics.
- Monitor order variances and act as a liaison between production and accounting to resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure the accuracy of inventory levels through periodic cycle counts and variance analysis.
- Prepare and maintain standard cost estimates.
- Assist in the completion of the month-end close, including journal entries, order settlement, and variance reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Cost accounting experience preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office Excel and ERP systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
This is an in-office position with a salary range of $65,000 - $75,000 based on experience.
