Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Communication Specialist to join our team at Behavioral Emotional and Academic Mentoring LLC.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assessment and Diagnosis:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate speech, language, and voice skills in students of all ages.
  • Determine the nature and severity of communication impairments through standardized tests, observations, and clinical evaluations.
Treatment Planning and Intervention:
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, student goals, and medical history.
  • Implement evidence-based therapy interventions to improve communication skills, including articulation, fluency, voice production, and language comprehension and expression.
  • Address swallowing disorders through therapeutic exercises and techniques.
Therapy Sessions:
  • Conduct therapy sessions with students in various settings.
  • Utilize diverse therapeutic approaches and modalities to meet the unique needs of clients.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to achieve therapeutic goals.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, treatment sessions, progress notes, and treatment plans.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for students, families, referring physicians, and other school professionals as required.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care.
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and caregivers to educate them about communication disorders and involve them in the treatment process.
Requirements
  1. A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  2. Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  3. Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
  4. Prior experience working as an SLP in clinical, educational, or healthcare settings is beneficial.
  5. Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based practices in speech-language pathology.
  6. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  7. The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
Work Arrangements
  1. Duration: The 2024-2025 School Year.
  2. Regular School Hours.
  3. Location: Hybrid Los Angeles Area.

Estimated Salary Range: $55,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
