The Infrastructure Systems Specialist is accountable for ensuring the seamless operation of system and storage elements within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Policy Development: Establishes guidelines for utilizing essential tools in alignment with corporate standards.

Installation and Testing

  • System Setup: Installs core components such as ESX, servers, and storage systems, as well as necessary software.
  • Adherence to Protocols: Follows established procedures for the installation and connection of hardware and software.

Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Impact Analysis: Assesses potential impacts on production environments.
  • Operational Assurance: Guarantees the functionality of proposed solutions and their organizational alignment.
  • Security Oversight: Monitors project security requirements.

Technical Leadership

  • Infrastructure Roadmap: Outlines the strategic direction for infrastructure enhancements, including new hardware and software versions.
  • Service Evolution: Defines the trajectory of changes in services provided to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with VMware, Citrix, Storage, and Windows Server.
  • Preferred knowledge of Linux operating systems.
  • Certifications in VMware, Citrix, and NetApp are advantageous.
  • At least 7 years of experience in server hardware maintenance and support.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Data Storage Solutions: Expert-level knowledge and administration of solutions such as NetApp and EMC.
  • Server/Storage Hardware: Expert familiarity with hardware from Dell, HP, EMC, and NetApp.
  • VMware Administration: High proficiency in vSphere, vSAN, and other VMware products.
  • Citrix Virtualization: Expert in Citrix application and desktop virtualization.
  • Backup Technologies: Advanced knowledge of systems backup technologies, preferably Veritas and Commvault.
