We are seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Rebecca School LLC, a developmental program that utilizes the DIRFloortime method. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in the success of our students, developing treatment plans and goals to improve functional abilities and enhance their ability to learn.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver speech therapy services to students with special needs, utilizing the DIRFloortime method to promote language development and communication skills.
  • Administer pediatric speech assessments to determine a student's level of function in areas such as language acquisition, articulation, and oral motor and feeding.
  • Prepare written assessment and reports identifying the student's needs and proposed treatment strategies, goals, and objectives; maintain progress records.
  • Provide students with individual treatment and group therapy sessions to correct specific areas of content and pragmatic issues.
  • Educate team members on the facilitation of implemented techniques or modalities, ensuring a cohesive approach to speech therapy.
  • Monitor therapy and educational staff trained to incorporate appropriate speech therapy treatment strategies into instruction; evaluate the effectiveness of the established program and make modifications within the speech and language framework of the DIR model.
  • Maintain professional competence by attending staff development programs and continuing education programs.
  • Participate in weekly Greenspan meetings, team meetings, and staff trainings to ensure a collaborative approach to student care.
  • Case presentation to the entire staff twice per year, demonstrating how language goals are incorporated into the DIR model.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology (SLP)
  • License to practice SLP in NYS
  • TSHH/TSSLD Certification
  • Knowledge of DIRFloortime is preferred, but not required
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with students, staff, and parents
