Job SummaryThe Ultrasound Technologist will perform general exams, including breast, small parts, vascular, and obstetrical exams in a timely and complete manner.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general ultrasound exams, including breast, small parts, vascular, and OBGYN exams in a timely and complete manner
- Correlate clinical history to the test being performed
- Prepare the exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct examinations
- Assist radiologists as needed with ultrasound-guided biopsies and vascular ultrasound procedures
- Recognize and record the appropriate anatomy and pathology using sonographic equipment
- Properly care for sonography equipment and report equipment failure
- Write reports based on scan results and completion
- Alert appropriate medical staff of any abnormalities that need immediate attention
- Use problem-solving skills and make decisions
- Work independently or with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Manage multiple priorities and projects, and display flexibility in a fast-paced work environment
- Display a good work ethic and friendly and cheerful disposition
- Maintain the strictest levels of confidentiality
- Pursue professional development for the continual improvement of patient care
- May carry out additional responsibilities and special projects
- Must have Breast US experience
- Must have breast biopsy experience
- Minimum of 2-year experience in general ultrasound, including breast, small parts, vascular, and obstetrical exams
- High School degree or equivalent
- 2+ years experience as a Sonographer
- Accreditation by ARDMS or ARRT(S)
