Nurse Practitioner

Inova Health System is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Unit team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
Job Responsibilities:- Perform comprehensive patient health assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
- Conduct all patient care in a patient-centered manner, integrating knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families.
- Advocate for patients' rights and provide counsel while acting as a resource to resolve issues.
- Access resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and coordinate healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning.
- Document all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assist healthcare team members with documentation.
- Certification - Basic Life Support; for Critical Care units, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support within 6 months of hire; for Pediatric units, Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire; for Infusion Center units, obtain chemo card within 3 months of hire.
- Licensure - Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license.
- Experience - 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
- Education - Bachelor's Degree Nursing or Associate's Degree. If RN has an Associate's Degree, within 2 years of date of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1.) Identify which accredited school they plan to attend 2.) Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date 3.) Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses 4.) Complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
