About the RoleThis position requires a skilled and experienced Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to provide expert imaging services for patients undergoing ultrasound procedures. You will work closely with medical staff to obtain accurate diagnoses, ensure patient comfort and safety, and maintain the highest standards of quality and integrity.
As an Imaging Specialist - Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for:
- Performing ultrasound exams using independent judgment to differentiate between normal and pathological findings;
- Analyzing sonograms, synthesizing sonographic information, and communicating findings to physicians;
- Maintaining patient records, reporting results, and charging procedure and supplies accordingly;
- Participating in departmental downtime protocols, troubleshooting equipment issues, and maintaining proficiency with all equipment in the department;
- Collaborating with radiologists, physician assistants, and other sonographers to achieve seamless patient care;
- Providing excellent customer service, ensuring patient comfort, and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A completion of Radiology program or accredited Sonography program;
- Credentialed Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS);
- One or more credentials with ARDMS (Abdomen, OBGYN, and Pediatric);
- BLS certification;
- Excellent computer skills, knowledge of office equipment, data entry, mathematical skills, and patient equipment experience;
- PACs experience, EMR experience, and ARRT in Radiology are preferred;
- Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
As an Imaging Specialist - Diagnostic Medical Sonographer at Prisma Health, you can expect:
