Job Summary

As a Construction Supervisor with the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, you will play a critical role in managing and coordinating the construction phase of public improvement contracts. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor construction of public improvement contracts, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and departmental policies.
  • Review and provide input on preliminary and final design plans, participating in value engineering and design reviews as needed.
  • Conduct and participate in construction meetings, reviewing contractors' schedules of value and construction progress schedules.
  • Administer contracts, purchase orders, and other agreements, ensuring scope, terms, and conditions are consistently met.
  • Oversee day-to-day field activities, ensuring project milestone dates and overall schedule completion date are met.
  • Monitor progress of work, preparing daily reports and composing correspondence as necessary.
  • Measure work in place and equipment, computing progress payments and reviewing requests for payment.
  • Request proposals from contractors, negotiating price and scope of work.
  • Investigate construction claims, monitoring progress and negotiating prices for value claims.
  • Administer and oversee completion and close-out of contracts.
Requirements

This position requires a strong understanding of construction management principles, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar role, with a proven track record of successfully managing construction projects.
