We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the University of Virginia. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing and coordinating interdisciplinary patient care utilizing the nursing process.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care, adhering to the ANA 2015 Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, Third Edition and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments, identify patient needs, and develop individualized care plans.
- Implement evidence-based practices to promote patient safety and quality care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in performance improvement activities and contribute to the development of quality care initiatives.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
- 1 year of relevant experience.
- Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
The job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent travel, and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are necessary, as well as attention to detail and the ability to write legibly. The ability to lift/push/pull lbs. may be required, and exposure to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease may occur.
