Key Responsibilities:

  • Capture and edit news video segments, covering daily stories, special reports, features, sports, and live events for both web and television platforms.
  • Collaborate with news managers, assignment desk personnel, producers, reporters, anchors, and control room staff.
  • Safely maintain and operate camera equipment and company vehicles.
  • Utilize portable ENG live units, microwave, satellite trucks, and backpacks in various remote locations.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Degree in broadcasting or journalism, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Familiarity with the principles of photojournalism.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience operating video recording equipment in a television broadcast environment.
  • Proficiency in digital editing software such as Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Avid, Edius, or similar.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts during breaking news, holidays, and other scheduled requirements.
  • Experience shooting sports events, including football, baseball, and basketball.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

The Visual News Specialist must be capable of standing, sitting, and conducting interviews independently. The role requires effective communication in various settings, making decisions autonomously, and working closely with others. The position involves outdoor work in diverse weather conditions and indoor work in controlled environments. Candidates should be able to lift and operate equipment weighing up to 60 pounds and perform repetitive movements. The work may occur in varying lighting conditions.
