At Amazon, we're seeking a talented Data Scientist to join our team in Central Economics and Science. This role is all about leveraging cutting-edge causal inference models to drive business impact for AWS.

Key responsibilities include building and refining machine learning models that provide actionable recommendations for improving AWS business performance. You'll work closely with executives, program owners, Finance, and technical peers to execute on multi-year research projects that deliver step-change growth for the business.

This role requires strong collaboration with other scientists, economists, and engineers to develop and implement science best practices. You'll also be an important collaborator with other technical and business teams at AWS, particularly those focused on productivity and sales resource allocation.

A day in the life of our team involves tackling big, cross-organizational problems. We encourage individuals to grow their skills, stretch, and learn from each other in a supportive and fun environment.

We're looking for someone with 2+ years of data scientist experience, 3+ years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab). Experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment is also essential.

Preferred qualifications include experience in Python, Perl, or another scripting language, as well as a background in a ML or data scientist role with a large technology company.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $125,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $212,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

We are a total compensation company, offering equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package. Dependent on the position offered, additional benefits may be provided, including a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
