Medical Assistant

Planned Parenthood of Central and Western NY is seeking a skilled Patient Care Assistant to join our team. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will work closely with our health center staff to provide education and counseling to patients, as well as support services in all health center functions.
Key Responsibilities:- Independently handle the intake process, determining the reason for visit and assisting patients with form completion.
- Clearly and accurately record data in the Electronic Health Record, including vital signs and medical/family/social history.
- Perform routine tests, including urine pregnancy tests, HIV tests, blood draws, and urine specimen collection.
- Assist clinicians in the exam room, providing patient support and basic education on reproductive health care.
- Support other health center team members by attending staff meetings and participating in training workshops.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare position.
- Medical Assistant Training or CNA highly desired.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, and in a fast-paced environment.
