Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • You will be responsible for collecting and interpreting engineering and characterization data to support work planning activities
  • Apply theoretical knowledge and experience in planning and designing projects
  • Develop specifications and perform detailed engineering tasks
  • Contribute to preparing reports, estimates, plans, and specifications
  • Assist in scheduling and conducting meetings, ensuring timely documentation
  • Evaluate conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards, as well as company policies and procedures
  • Determine customer needs, assess requirements, and identify solutions to meet their requests
  • Utilize best practices and internal/external business insights to enhance products or services
  • Participate in field/site visits for investigation or inspection with senior personnel
  • Apply your knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and non-standard situations

Basic Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, Structural, Radiological, or Environmental Engineering with a focus on safety and/or health physics
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and have completed at least 60 hours of coursework
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Familiarity with MS Office software
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills
  • Willingsness to travel up to 90% of the internship duration
  • May be subject to random drug and substance abuse screening
  • Able to excel in time management and work effectively under pressure
  • Available to work in various settings such as office or remotely, depending on needs
  • US Citizenship required

Work Environment: Split between Field (50%) and Office (50%) Work
• In-field duties include collection and interpretation of facility radiological, chemical, and engineering data, performing walkdowns, participating in pre-job briefs and mock-up activities. Ability to work in potentially adverse conditions, including cold and hot environments, lifting 30-50 pounds individually, and heavier items as part of a team, while complying with HSE guidelines.
• Office duties involve working in a cooperative small group setting with various employees at different levels, adhering to HSE guidelines. Typical office day may include processing scientific or engineering data, preparing work documents or reports, and ordering supplies.

Compensation: Targeted salary $18-22/hour.
