As a key member of our team, you will work under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician to deliver exceptional care and support to our patients.
Responsibilities- Assist healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures, ensuring the procurement of necessary equipment and supplies.
- In psychiatric settings, provide support to patients and families, engage in behavior modification plans, and facilitate age-appropriate play for children.
- Collect and document patient information, promptly reporting significant changes to registered nurses or physicians.
- Provide assistance to patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
- Deliver care and treatments as outlined in the patient's plan of care, including vital sign measurement, specimen collection, and postural drainage.
- Provide direct personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and ambulation assistance.
- Contribute to indirect care, including cleaning the work area, changing linens, and transporting patients and supplies.
- Reinforce teaching given by registered nurses or physicians, documenting patient understanding and distributing educational materials as needed.
- High School diploma or GED
- Listing as Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
- Six (6) months of relevant nursing assistant experience, which may include a nursing assistant course
- Fluent in verbal and written English language and basic computer skills
