Job Summary:

Medpace is seeking a skilled SQL Database Administrator to join our Information Technology team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the maintenance and security of our databases, ensuring they are optimized for performance, backed up regularly, and meet compliance objectives.

This role requires a strong understanding of database management, with primary experience in MSSQL Database Solutions and a forward-thinking approach to cloud-related database solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize database performance for our critical systems
  • Manage backup, restore, and archive procedures of database servers
  • Manage and upgrade/install database-related clustered and stand-alone servers in physical and virtual environments
  • Monitor SQL environments for health and performance
  • Ensure security and data integrity of all database environments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience working in database administration
  • Demonstrated understanding of all features in current versions of Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies is preferred
  • Experience with Oracle is preferred
  • Knowledge of database design and performance tuning is preferred
  • Experience with HADR (High Availability/Disaster Recovery), Always On, and Failover Clusters
