Job Summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Kitchen Hood Cleaning Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of cleanliness and safety in commercial kitchen exhaust systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and take down equipment, including hanging plastic sheeting, mixing chemicals, and setting up ladders, wet/dry vacuums, pre-sprayers, garden hoses, and high-pressure hoses.
  • Power wash commercial kitchen exhaust systems to include hoods, duct work, filters, and exhaust fans per company and industry standards while protecting customers' facilities and equipment.
  • Pre-scrape greasy buildup from affected areas of kitchen exhaust systems.
  • Meet the cleaning standards as outlined in NFPA 96.
  • Final clean-up in kitchens by wiping down the hoods, mopping up the floors, etc.
  • Report results of work completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Protect and maintain company equipment.
  • Work in a safe manner as outlined by company safety procedures, including driver safety and personal protective equipment.
  • Monitor inventory and initiate requests for supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Responsible for the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Perform moderately complex physically demanding semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.
Requirements
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Willing and able to travel when needed.
Physical Requirements
  • While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects.
  • The work also requires the following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions: balancing, climbing, grasping, hearing, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, and visual acuity.
