**Job Description:**

We are seeking a highly skilled researcher to design and prototype novel engineered surfaces and devices for manipulating microwave and radio-frequency electromagnetic fields. As an RF Researcher at APL, your primary responsibility will be to work closely with our team to oversee the design, prototyping, and fabrication of these surfaces and devices.

You will participate in performing anechoic chamber measurements, devise RF testbeds to characterize the performance of electromagnetic prototypes, analyze data, and propose design refinements. Additionally, you will advance independent research and development ideas while collaborating with a team of physicists, engineers, and fabrication technicians to gain deeper insights into sensors, devices, and related phenomena.

  • Possess a strong background in electromagnetics, microwave circuits, and RF electronics.
  • Have proficiency in using full-wave electromagnetic simulation packages such as CST or COMSOL.
  • Have 1+ year working experience in configuring and operating typical RF hardware equipment such as vector network analyzers (VNAs), antennas, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Write scientific programs in MATLAB or PYTHON.

We offer a competitive salary range of $90,000 to $350,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
