Veterinary Surgeon

At the Central California SPCA, we are seeking a skilled Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in Fresno, CA. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will be responsible for performing spay/neuter surgeries, providing pre-operative examinations, and making decisions regarding animal health and suitability for surgery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform spay/neuter surgeries with minimal complications
• Provide pre-operative examinations and make decisions regarding animal health and suitability for surgery
• Record information regarding animal health, treatment, medical history, and controlled substances used
• Build effective relationships with clients, staff, and volunteers
• Assist in the development and implementation of veterinary protocols and procedures

Requirements:

• Licensure in good standing to practice in California
• Ability to obtain a DEA license
• Minimum of 2 years of experience, including surgical experience
• Commitment to practicing high standards of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
• Excellent client communication and problem-solving skills
