Job Summary

Big Sandy Community & Technical College is seeking a highly skilled Financial Specialist III to join our team. This individual will be responsible for assisting with student payment plans, third-party billing, student accounts and receivables, and refunds. The successful candidate will also assist with purchasing, collection efforts, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Primary Cashier for the Prestonsburg campus and backup cashier for all other campuses as needed.
  • Collect all tuition and fees, process payments received from students, third-party, scholarships, etc.
  • Prepare daily cash transmittals.
  • Collect and receive funds from various inter-campus departments.
  • Assist with Bank Mobile issues.
  • Student Accounts: Assist with student payment plans, third-party billing, student accounts and receivables, and refunds, troubleshooting student accounts, calling students, etc. Monitor scholarships to ensure students have received scholarships as indicated on the list provided by the Admissions Office.
  • Collections: Assist with collection calls, emails, letters, reports, and turning student accounts over to collection agencies.
  • Inventory monitoring: Perform inventory checks on all campuses as needed, assist with collection of off-site use of equipment forms, etc. Possible purchasing assistance during peak times, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree and 1-2 years related experience.
  • Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and 2-4 years related experience.
  • Preferred competencies in MicroSoft Office (Excel and Word).
