Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Supervisor to join our team at Alden Park Strathmoor. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to our customers and supervising the day-to-day nursing activities performed by our nursing assistants.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to customers, including administering medications, performing routine charting duties, and participating in the orientation of new customers and family members.
  • Supervise nursing assistants, ensuring they follow established departmental policies and procedures, and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Develop and implement care plans for customers, including identifying problems and needs, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure effective care.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, family members, and healthcare professionals, including physicians, to ensure seamless care and address any concerns or issues.
  • Participate in continuing education programs to stay up-to-date on the latest healthcare practices and procedures.
Requirements
  • Current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN or LPN in the State of Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
  • Current CPR certificate or ability to become certified within two weeks of employment.
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and work harmoniously with other personnel.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Ability to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • Ability to function independently and work effectively with customers, family members, and support agencies.
