Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Health Assessments: Conduct routine health assessments, screenings, and evaluations of students to identify health issues and provide appropriate care or referrals.
  • First Aid and Emergency Care: Administer first aid and emergency care as needed, including responding to accidents, injuries, and medical emergencies.
  • Medication Administration: Manage and administer prescribed medications and treatments according to doctor's orders and school policies.
  • Health Education: Educate students and staff on health-related topics, including nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential health records, including immunization records, health histories, and incident reports.
  • Communication: Collaborate with parents, teachers, and school administrators to address health concerns and ensure effective communication regarding student health needs.
  • Health Programs: Develop and implement health promotion programs and wellness activities tailored to the needs of the student population.
Requirements
  • Education: LPN: Completion of a Licensed Practical Nursing program and valid LPN license. or RN: Completion of a Registered Nursing program and valid RN license.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a school setting or pediatric nursing is preferred.
  • Skills: Clinical expertise, multicultural competency, bilingual communication, cultural sensitivity, communication, adaptability, team collaboration, and technical proficiency.
Certifications:

Current CPR and First Aid certification required; School Nurse certification preferred.
