Location: Novi, MI

Key Responsibilities:

The Clinical Support Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of procedure rooms by:

  • Preparing procedure areas by organizing instruments, verifying supplies, and adhering to physician preferences while maintaining sterile conditions.
  • Assisting patients to their designated procedure rooms and demonstrating proper lifting techniques to ensure patient safety.
  • Supporting physicians during procedures by utilizing aseptic techniques and adhering to universal precautions.
  • Accurately documenting procedures and patient interactions in the Electronic Health Record system.
  • Mixing medications as per physician orders while following safety protocols.
  • Performing injections and processing blood specimens with precision.
  • Maintaining logs for specimens, medications, and sterilization processes.
  • Communicating effectively with patients and healthcare providers regarding medical concerns.
  • Inserting and removing urinary catheters as required.
  • Participating in the cleaning and decontamination of procedure instruments and ensuring proper autoclave operation.
  • Assisting in the overall cleanliness of the facility, including restrooms and lab areas.
  • Restocking supplies and maintaining equipment as necessary.
  • Transporting laboratory specimens and other materials as needed.
  • Mentoring new staff members as assigned.
  • Acting as a patient advocate by reporting any changes in patient conditions to the supervising physician.
  • Ensuring confidentiality of patient records and maintaining professional accountability.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Medical Assistant Certification
  • 1-2 years of experience in a high-volume healthcare setting
  • 1-2 years of experience performing Medical Assisting duties
