Mobile Application Architect

As a specialist in Mobile Application Development & Continuous Integration within the mobile division, your role will encompass:

· Overseeing the architecture of web applications to ensure they deliver native app-like performance, security, and aesthetics.

· Adapting this architecture to accommodate the dynamic mobile landscape (including various devices and operating systems) while promoting code reusability across different native applications.

· Facilitating the tools and training necessary for the wider web development teams to effectively contribute their write-once code to the mobile application, which includes managing the developer setup of Macs utilized by these teams.

· Leading a team of web developers (both onshore and offshore) who collaborate with business and user experience professionals to create mobile-exclusive features, while also reviewing contributions from write-once teams aimed at the mobile platform.

Your behind-the-scenes responsibilities will include:

Managing the web application CI/CD pipeline on cloud-based Macs, where you will monitor and enhance performance, adapting to changes in internal infrastructure.

Ensuring logging, monitoring, diagnosing, and addressing production stability challenges.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, ideally in Computer Science or Engineering.

Essential Skills:

1. Proficient in CSS, SASS, HTML5, webpack, and Angular.

2. Experience in web application development, particularly for full-screen hybrid applications (including safe area considerations, software keyboard handling, debugging, etc.) or at least for mobile web browsers.

3. Familiarity with web browser Developer Tools across various platforms.

4. Understanding of modern (responsive) web application design principles.

5. Proficient with Git, node, and reviewing pull requests.

6. Strong communication abilities.

7. Leadership and team management capabilities.

8. Exposure to Agile methodologies and Jira.

Preferred Skills:

1. Knowledge of deploying applications to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

2. Experience with Cordova.

3. Familiarity with Splunk.

4. Understanding of Azure pipelines.

5. Skills in native (iOS/Android) development and deployment.

6. Proficiency with the macOS terminal (zshell).

7. Knowledge of testing frameworks and test-driven development.

8. Awareness of Web Accessibility standards.
