About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team at Withum. As a Tax Manager, you will play a key role in leading our tax engagements, supervising staff, and building relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead tax engagements and ensure accurate and timely completion of tax returns
  • Research and draft complex tax memoranda
  • Identify and implement tax planning opportunities
  • Handle and resolve tax controversies
  • Oversee complete tax research projects for various clients and industries
  • Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to meet client deadlines
  • Conduct constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and provide counsel accordingly
  • Serve in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • CPA, JD, LLM, or a Masters of Science in Taxation required
  • At least 5 years of prior experience working in the tax department of a public accounting firm, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff
  • Excellent analytical and technical tax skills
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced team environment
  • Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client's management
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, and strong attention to detail
