Critical Care Physician Assistant Sought in Western Massachusetts

A Physician Assistant in Critical Care Medicine is needed to join a physician-led group dedicated to providing innovative and collaborative care with a commitment to satisfaction and quality.
About the Position:
Day coverage requires 1 physician and 1 APP. Night coverage involves an APP in the ICU with an intensivist backup by phone.
EMR:
Meditech is used.
ICU:
The ICU is open. This is a 100% night position, 7p - 7a, with generous compensation. The position involves 14 shifts per block with flexibility. The daily census is 4-8. The physician is on call at night. The responsibilities include consults, admissions, and bed flow management, rapid response/codes. The Physician Assistant will manage Critical Care patients in a busy ICU.
Requirements:
Candidates with advanced practice experience in critical care medicine or surgical specialty or emergency medicine are sought. Candidates must be able to independently and confidently make medically appropriate decisions regarding the care of high-acuity patients. A Master's of Physician Assistant Studies or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program is required. Active Massachusetts state license, American Heart Association CPR Certification, DEA License, and state Controlled Substance Registration are necessary. Experience as an advanced practice provider in ICU or a similar position is preferred. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are required. The ability to perform all technical skills in the critical care setting is essential.
