Position Overview:

Soliant is looking for a committed Educational Sign Language Facilitator to join our team in Parkland, Washington. The selected candidate will deliver interpretation services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing within educational environments. This role involves close collaboration with students, educators, and staff to promote effective communication and ensure access to learning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver sign language interpretation for students during classroom activities, meetings, and school functions.
  • Work in partnership with educators, families, and other professionals to enhance student learning and growth.
  • Maintain precise and confidential documentation of interpreted sessions.
  • Stay informed about current best practices in sign language interpretation.
  • Engage in professional development activities as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or a comparable credential.
  • Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA) certification as a Sign Language Interpreter, or the ability to obtain such certification within a designated timeframe.
  • Prior experience as a sign language interpreter in educational settings is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
