Position Overview

The Katherine Thomas School Program is dedicated to supporting students in grades K-8 who face language and learning challenges, including autism, intellectual disabilities, and other health impairments. We are currently seeking full-time Special Education Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team. This role is crucial in fostering a nurturing and effective educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist educators in delivering curriculum across various subjects.
  • Support and guide students in adhering to classroom instructions and school regulations.
  • Provide tailored accommodations to address the diverse needs of students.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere.
  • Implement Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) strategies.
  • Document and track student progress through detailed notes and reports.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • Experience working with students with learning disabilities, autism, and intellectual disabilities is preferred.
  • Familiarity with educational and behavioral management techniques is advantageous.
  • Must demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and a collaborative spirit.
