About the Role

Gpac is partnering with a family-owned food processing company to hire skilled maintenance technicians. The company is expanding and requires experienced professionals to perform routine maintenance and preventative repair services for all equipment at the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-operational inspections of equipment prior to use
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical failures
  • Repair and replace equipment as needed or as scheduled by your supervisor
  • Conduct regularly scheduled preventative maintenance services on machines and equipment assigned to you by your supervisor
  • Respond to calls for assistance with unplanned machine breakdowns from department supervisors
  • Perform any and all other duties assigned by your supervisor

Requirements:

  • Mechanical knowledge of how equipment works
  • Electrical knowledge of single and three-phase power
  • Basic computer and tablet skills
  • 2-5 years of experience in a food manufacturing facility (strongly recommended)
  • Education and/or experience in mechanical work (preferred)
  • Experience with large ammonia refrigeration systems (a plus)

Work Environment:

The work environment consists of a variety of conditions, including variations in temperature from freezers at -20F to hot rooms and dryers up to +145F. Some areas of the plant are very wet from condensation or water use. Some work may need to be performed outside where the environment changes constantly. A majority of the work is performed independently, but some will be done as part of a team.
