  • Ensure adherence to operational and merchandising best practices to maximize profitability, with a focus on priority categories.
  • Maintain clear communication within the department and across the organization.
  • Observe and ensure compliance with company sanitation, safety, and food safety regulations.
  • Understand the factors contributing to and methods for minimizing losses.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the department's standard practice manual and program manuals for each assigned department.

  • Strong grasp of store operations and merchandising techniques.

  • Previous experience as a Department Manager or equivalent is required.
  • A college degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Must obtain accreditation as a "Certified Food Safety Manager" from the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or a similar organization, or complete company-provided training and achieve accreditation within the first 90 days of employment. Accreditation must be maintained while in a position requiring it.
Physical Demands

  • Proficient in using computers and other communication systems necessary for job functions.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. regularly, including overhead lifting, and up to 60 lbs. occasionally. Push/pull up to 40 lbs. regularly.
  • Meet established volume and fixed activity standards.

  • Maintain merchandising techniques and layouts consistent with corporate philosophy.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the causes and means for addressing inventory loss issues in assigned departments.
  • Familiarity with company tools such as: MPP, financial reports, scheduling, ordering, and business information systems.
  • Solid understanding of standard practices for all departments.
  • Maintain effective communication with the management team, all associates in the store, and throughout the organization.
  • Treat all store information as strictly confidential.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Salary range is between $27.25 Hrly
