KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cultivate a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere to retain both associates and customers.
- Guarantee adherence to all quality benchmarks.
- Supervise departmental operations in line with established best practices.
- Maintain the department's visual appeal and presentation standards.
- Recruit, train, and mentor associates to fulfill departmental requirements.
- Achieve financial targets for the department.
- Oversee the performance of all assigned department team members.
- Exemplify exceptional customer service.
- Exercise sound judgment in delegating tasks and following up to ensure efficient departmental operations.
- Maintain accurate records of production, losses, sales, and inventory.
- Must be capable of meeting the physical demands of the role, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Recognize achievements and provide constructive feedback when necessary.
- Treat all colleagues with fairness, dignity, and respect.
- Ensure associates receive proper training from certified trainers.

- Develop comprehensive product knowledge across all areas of the assigned department.
- Utilize RF (Radio Frequency) equipment as required.
- Organize and manage product loads for assigned departments.
- Assist in effective ordering and inventory management to optimize sales and minimize losses.
- Conduct performance evaluations for all department associates in accordance with company standards.
- Create effective work schedules to meet production and customer service standards while accommodating associates' personal needs.
- Understand and utilize company tools such as: MPP, financial reports, scheduling, ordering, and business information systems.
- Ensure adherence to operational and merchandising best practices to maximize profitability, with a focus on priority categories.
- Maintain clear communication within the department and across the organization.
- Observe and ensure compliance with company sanitation, safety, and food safety regulations.
- Understand the factors contributing to and methods for minimizing losses.
- Have a thorough understanding of the department's standard practice manual and program manuals for each assigned department.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Strong grasp of store operations and merchandising techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational abilities and a demonstrated willingness to learn various tasks and technical job requirements.
- Proven judgment in problem-solving, decision-making, handling complaints, mediating disputes, and resolving grievances.
- Desire and capability to lead and manage associates across multiple departments.
- Previous experience as a Department Manager or equivalent is required.
- A college degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Must obtain accreditation as a "Certified Food Safety Manager" from the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or a similar organization, or complete company-provided training and achieve accreditation within the first 90 days of employment. Accreditation must be maintained while in a position requiring it.
- Proficient in using computers and other communication systems necessary for job functions.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. regularly, including overhead lifting, and up to 60 lbs. occasionally. Push/pull up to 40 lbs. regularly.
- Meet established volume and fixed activity standards.
- Assist in achieving financial goals: sales, payroll percentage, gross margin, loss control, MPP net percentage effectiveness, and management of other expenses.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures as outlined.
- Promote a sales-driven, customer-focused culture through relationship building and fostering an environment of enthusiastic customer engagement.
- Treat all associates with fairness, dignity, and respect. Recognize achievements and provide constructive feedback when necessary.
- Ensure the maintenance of the store's visual appeal and quality of all products.
- Oversee the performance of all assigned department associates.
- Make recommendations regarding hiring, training, and performance management for assigned department associates.
- Support the developmental needs of assigned department associates.
- Use sound judgment in delegating tasks and following up to ensure efficient store operations.
- Observe and ensure compliance with company security, safety, and food safety standards.
- Maintain merchandising techniques and layouts consistent with corporate philosophy.
- Comprehensive understanding of the causes and means for addressing inventory loss issues in assigned departments.
- Familiarity with company tools such as: MPP, financial reports, scheduling, ordering, and business information systems.
- Solid understanding of standard practices for all departments.
- Maintain effective communication with the management team, all associates in the store, and throughout the organization.
- Treat all store information as strictly confidential.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
