The role involves the independent assessment, diagnosis, counseling, and treatment of clients, including university students, staff, and patients.
Responsibilities include conducting interviews, assessments, and providing personalized counseling to individuals facing personal, social, educational, or vocational challenges.
Evaluate client treatment plans and adjust strategies based on individual assessments. Collaborate with medical professionals and specialists for client referrals.
Facilitate group therapy sessions addressing personal issues, educational challenges, habit disorders, and other significant concerns.
Develop and present educational materials related to psychological health issues. Engage in presentations for employees, student organizations, community service agencies, and healthcare providers.
May undertake specific duties as outlined in departmental guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in social work, mental health nursing, counseling education, psychology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Missouri licensure as a Clinical Social Worker, Psychologist, Professional Counselor, or Certified Clinical Specialist in Mental Health Nursing.
- Minimum of one (1) year of clinical therapeutic experience in a healthcare setting.
- For certain positions, three (3) years of clinical therapeutic experience may substitute for licensure/certification, with at least one year post-master's.
