We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist with experience in blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, decontamination, and updating patient information. Key responsibilities include:
- Collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures.
- Clearly and courteously explaining the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections as required.
- Demonstrating techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
- Fully understanding all physicians' orders.
- Matching laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required by the test order.
- Checking all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Packaging specimens for transport.
- Storing specimen samples according to required temperatures, placing samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes, accurately labeling, and following specific procedures to maintain the integrity of the specimens during transport.
- Understanding and complying with OSHA and DEP regulations.
- Attending annual department trainings.
- Answering telephone calls and reading laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
Requirements:
- 1 year of phlebotomy experience
- Straight Needle Experience
- Processing Experience
This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 4 Month(s). The work site is fully on-site in Wayne, New Jersey.
