About the Role:
Civica is seeking an experienced Automation Director to lead our Automation Engineering function. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing automation strategies that drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement automation strategies that align with business objectives.
- Lead a team of automation engineers to design, develop, and implement automation solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure automation solutions meet business needs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and partners to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of automation solutions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Manage budgets and resources to ensure efficient use of automation assets.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to drive process efficiency and innovation.
- Provide technical guidance and support to automation engineers and other stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure Civica remains competitive.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. engineering, computer science).
- 10+ years of experience in automation or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of automation technologies and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of database and historian systems.
- Experience with virtualization and networking technologies.
- Knowledge of systems such as Allen Bradley PLC platforms, Johnson Controls, Amega or DeltaV, SCADA systems, PI Historian, Siemens PLC S7, iFix, iHistorian, Industrial Ethernet networks, Profibus and AS-I networks.
- Knowledge and understanding of Data Integrity and how it applies to the BioTech Industry with specific focus on guidelines from the FDA.
- Experience with S88 and ASTM 2500 principles.
- Exceptional organizational and teamwork skills.
- Experience with regulatory inspections.
- Demonstrated management and delivery of large capital projects.
- Subject matter expertise with Computerized Systems Validation (CSV).
- Previous experience/best practices implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as; Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc.
