Career Overview

Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team of caregivers. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide individualized medical nutrition therapy, education, and counseling to patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized medical nutrition therapy, education, and counseling to patients.
  • Work collaboratively with other health disciplines and departments to optimize nutrition care and the patient experience.
  • Implement nutritional care plans, communicate plans, establish a follow-up system, and maintain documentation.
  • Write changes for diet orders, initiate nutrient intake assessments, assess patients for signs and symptoms of nutritional deficiencies, evaluate appropriate fluid and electrolytes, review laboratory and clinical progress notes, inform physicians of patients' nutritional status, and need for changes in diet, enteral or parenteral feeding, and develop care plans, documentation, and reassessments.
  • Develop and contribute to Cleveland Clinic-sponsored education programs for physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, students, peers, and the public.
  • Create and revise education materials related to disease management through medical nutrition therapy.
  • Participate in program development designed to market and expand departmental services and revenue generation.
  • Market services to potential and current referral sources and develop and implement services in response to clients' needs and wants.
  • Support the dietetic internship program as a supervised practice rotation preceptor and class instructor.
  • Complete reports for ongoing productivity tracking.
  • Participate in professional growth activities and attend and contribute to conferences and seminars on nutrition and related topics.
  • Conduct clinical research.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a closely related field.
  • Maintain current licensure to practice dietetics in the current state (LD).
  • Active certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD).
  • One year of experience as a Registered Dietitian in clinical nutrition or successful completion of a Dietetic Internship Program.

Physical Requirements

Ability to navigate extensively to provide services to a large number of patients throughout the hospital and manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer entry. Must have physical ability to measure and weigh patients.
