The Psychiatric Technician I provides support to patients with mental health conditions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role requires a high level of empathy and understanding of patient needs.
Key Responsibilities- Observe and report changes in patient behavior to the charge nurse.
- Interact with patients in a therapeutic manner.
- Assist with social and recreational activities, group therapy, and patient education.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and dignity.
- Participate in unit-based process improvement activities.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association.
- Handle with Care training through Maria Parham Health.
- Critical thinking skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
