Job Overview

As a Mechanical Engineer II at Luxus, you will be responsible for applying mechanical systems design knowledge and skills to create construction drawings for our clients. You will serve as the primary liaison between the design team and the client, providing continuous professional support throughout the construction process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project timelines and communicate with the design team and client to ensure accurate and timely completion of design activities.
  • Assist in preparing proposals and engineering agreements in accordance with company standards.
  • Produce mechanical systems design elements consistent with project specifications.
  • Research and select appropriate equipment for project types.
  • Create construction HVAC documents for permitting.
  • Produce load calculations and engineering project specifications.
  • Execute QA/QC processes and provide project coordination with in-house and outside sources.
  • Consult on projects to manage schedules, deadlines, site surveys, punch lists, building codes, and standards.
  • Participate in post-design consultation activities and represent the company in client meetings.
  • Responsible for onboarding and overseeing junior engineers.
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers.
  • Provide timely billing of projects to the accounting department.
  • Follow established work rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Engage with other team members to improve processes, create efficiencies, and reduce costs.
Requirements
  • A 4-year degree in engineering is required, with EIT and/or PE preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, equipment, and concepts.
  • Knowledge of engineering drafting standards.
  • Knowledge and utilization of company and design standards.
  • Expert knowledge of building codes and standards.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the construction process and interpretation of construction drawings.
  • Knowledge of AutoCad and Revit.
  • Good communication skills.
