Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our team at the University of Miami's Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. As a CRNA, you will work collaboratively with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other medical professionals to deliver high-quality anesthesia care for medical and surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform patient assessments, prepare patients for anesthesia, and administer and maintain anesthesia to ensure proper sedation and pain management.
• Oversee patient recovery from anesthesia and provide immediate post-operative care.
• Conduct pre-operative assessments of surgical patients and administer anesthesia under the direction of an anesthesiologist.
• Perform pre- and post-anesthesia patient visits and document anesthesia notes on patient records.
• Review medical history, evaluate patients, and determine proper methods of anesthesia.
• Perform or evaluate diagnostic tests, such as radiographs (x-rays) and electrocardiograms (EKGs).
• Monitor patient vital signs to ensure safety and inform physicians of patient conditions during anesthesia.
• Manage patients' airway or pulmonary status using techniques such as endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, respiratory therapy, and extubation.
• Develop anesthesia care plans and adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures.

Requirements:

• Master's degree from an accredited School of Nurse Anesthesia Program (CRNA)
• Valid Florida CRNA license, BLS/ACLS/PALS required
• Minimum 2 years of experience
