Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual for the position of Chemical Engineering Intern at Integrated Resources, Inc (IRI). This role is crucial in ensuring the precise formulation of chemical compounds used in our production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately weigh, verify, and mix designated chemical substances for product formulations.
- Calibrate and oversee various mixing machinery while meticulously documenting all production activities in logbooks.
- Adhere to all departmental and corporate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain comprehensive records for each formulation batch.
- Assist in the Nanotechnology department and work with Antineoplastic products.
Principal Duties:
- Ensure the precise formulation of all production lots.
- Set up, load, operate, and monitor all mixing equipment involved in product formulations.
- Weigh and mix exact quantities of chemicals according to specific formulas while verifying product output from mixing operations.
- Calibrate and operate formulation-related equipment, including scales and meters.
- Adjust pH levels of products for in-process testing prior to production line release.
- Modify oxygen levels of oxygen-sensitive products before they are released for production.
- Understand and support the formulation of batches using both volumetric and gravimetric processes as specified in batch records.
- Clean and sanitize all tanks, equipment, and chemical containers in accordance with current SOPs and cGMPs.
- Complete forms for recording production volumes and comply with all current Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Assume additional responsibilities within the compounding department to support adherence to the production schedule.
Qualifications:
- A degree or background in Chemistry is preferred. Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing is advantageous.
- Ability to accurately weigh and measure chemicals in both powder and liquid forms, with a strong understanding of written SOPs required in the formulation department.
