Position Overview:
The Clinical Nurse Specialist is tasked with the comprehensive management of patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
This role encompasses the supervision of care plans and the responsibilities assigned to other healthcare personnel.
As a dedicated professional, the Clinical Nurse Specialist contributes to the efficient functioning of the nursing unit and fosters personal and professional growth by serving as a role model and leader.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist embodies and executes the mission, vision, and objectives of Tennova Healthcare - Clarksville, ensuring excellent public relations while safeguarding patient confidentiality and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate assigned patients, planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care
- Assist physicians during examinations and medical procedures
- Conduct various patient tests and administer medications within the registered nurse's scope of practice
- Empower patients' independence by setting care goals and educating patients and families about their conditions, medications, and self-care techniques
- Utilize experience and judgment to strategize and achieve care objectives
- Work on a 5x8 schedule (6:45 AM - 3:30 PM)

Qualifications:
- Active RN license in Tennessee or a compact state
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's preferred
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association) required within 90 days
- Minimum of 1 year of prior experience in a cardiac care setting
