Job Summary

The Kentucky Personnel Cabinet is seeking a highly skilled Landscape Gardener Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Facilities Management Division, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance of our state-owned campuses at the highest professional standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate landscape services, including grounds management, design, horticulture, turf management, and snow abatement.
  • Supervise staff in mowing, trimming, and other grounds maintenance activities.
  • Plant and prune trees, shrubs, and flowers, and apply pesticides as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity of our facilities.
  • Provide administrative support to ensure that materials and equipment are available for staff to perform their work efficiently and effectively.
  • Coordinate major repairs and projects with other branches as needed.
  • Support special events, such as the Kentucky Derby and Christmas celebrations.
  • Provide excellent customer service and tenant relations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Four years of experience in grounds maintenance, golf course greens keeping, landscaping, farming, or a related field.
  • Associate degree or technical training in horticulture or a related field may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Valid driver's license required.
