This training program is designed to prepare individuals for a career in emergency medical services.

EMT Training Academy

Application Deadline: August 28th

This Community EMS sponsored EMT Training lasts for 10 weeks

Participants will gain hands-on experience and knowledge necessary to become certified EMTs.

Compensation: Starting pay is $16.50/hr, with an increase of $7 upon certification transition.

Role of an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT):

The EMT's primary responsibility is to deliver essential emergency medical assistance and transport critical patients within the emergency medical framework. EMTs are equipped with the fundamental skills and knowledge required for patient care and operate as part of a comprehensive emergency response team.

Program Overview:

Selected candidates will be employed and receive a training wage during the program. This intensive 10-week course qualifies participants to take the necessary examinations for EMT certification. All costs associated with the training, including books, tuition, and uniforms, are covered by Community EMS. Upon successful completion, candidates will transition to EMT roles with an increased compensation rate.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License
  • All required immunizations
  • Successful completion of pre-employment screenings, including background checks and physical agility tests

Post-Course Opportunities:

Upon completion of the training, candidates will be eligible to take the state and national EMT certification exams and will be required to work full-time for Community EMS for a minimum of one year.

Once certified, employees will receive their assigned shifts and become eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes:
