Job Title: Health Unit Coordinator

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a skilled Health Unit Coordinator to join our team. As a Health Unit Coordinator, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a warm and welcoming greeting for newly admitted and transferred patients.
  • Respond to patient call lights and make regular rounds to ensure patient needs are met.
  • Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers, and discharges in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide wayfinding assistance and direct patients and families to available resources.
  • Assemble and maintain accurate patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.
  • Assist with unit clerical functions and troubleshoot equipment failures to minimize disruptions.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of experience in a customer service-related role.
  • Experience with typing, computer training, or equivalent coursework.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • College degree.
  • Microsoft Office experience.
Physical Requirements:
  • Requires full range of motion, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires frequent data entry, standing, and walking for extended periods.
  • Requires normal or corrected speech, hearing, and vision.
  • Requires some exposure to communicable disease or body fluids.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
