Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Preschool Teacher to join our team at Loudoun County Government. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing learning activities for preschool children, establishing and enforcing basic rules to maintain classroom order, and promoting physical, mental, and social development through games, arts, crafts, music, and field trips.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement a mix of educational and recreational activities to fulfill the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of preschool children.
  • Supervise children's behaviors, communication, and involvement.
  • Adhere to staff-to-student ratios.
  • Follow established policies, procedures, interactions, and disciplinary issues.
  • Safeguard the health and safety of children in the program through regular health checks.
  • Confirm that toys and equipment meet safety standards for children.
  • Administer food and food service materials.
  • Report incidents and follow emergency protocols.
  • Interact with parents, staff, and school site personnel, engaging in communication and attending team meetings.
Requirements
  • Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field and Six (6) months of programmatic experience with children.
  • Must be physically able to keep up with participants and lift 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One-year programmatic experience, including previous supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
