Job Summary

The Education Specialist is a key member of the Albany Medical Center team, responsible for designing and implementing educational programs that support the growth and development of our staff. This role requires a strong background in education, nursing, or a related field, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement educational programs for staff, including orientation, continuing education, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and other stakeholders to identify educational needs and develop targeted programs.
  • Provide leadership and direction to support high-performing staff through the development of educational activities that meet the needs of the nursing organization.
  • Participate in the design, development, and implementation of orientation and continuing education programs for individuals and groups within the nursing organization.
  • Evaluate the educational outcomes of programming and link them to the quality process and patient care outcomes.
Requirements
  • A Master's Degree in Social Work, Nursing, Education, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in the field of Clinical Social Work or Nursing, with a focus on Case Management, Utilization Review, and Discharge Planning.
  • BLS Certification.
  • Demonstrated clinical competency in a nursing or allied health specialty.
  • Ability to create collegial and collaborative relationships internally and externally.
  • Ability to read and analyze documents, listen well, and facilitate communication among groups.
  • Effective organizational, oral, and written communication skills, problem-solving, program development, computer skills, strong leadership, and team-building skills.
