Job Summary

Tarrant County College is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Groundskeeper to join our team. As a Groundskeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the appearance and upkeep of our outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the grounds and landscapes by performing tasks such as mowing, pruning, and watering plants.
  • Operate grounds vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Follow written or verbal directions and specifications to ensure high-quality work.
  • Remove trash and debris from public areas and perform regular inspections of the grounds.
  • Transport trash or debris to designated collection locations.
  • Remove snow, ice, or debris from walkways, driveways, and parking lots, and apply salt to prevent slip, trip, and fall accidents.
  • Follow planned landscape designs for specific groundskeeping tasks.
  • Perform irrigation maintenance and upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, water features, and other grounds features.
  • Transfer furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) as needed.
  • Assist with indoor and outdoor event setup and teardown.
  • Complete work orders as assigned.
  • Wear appropriate safety gear and protective clothing.

Service Excellence

  • Attend work regularly, report on time, and follow a work schedule to meet the demands of the job.
  • Complete all required training and professional development sessions.
  • Support the mission, values, goals, and principles of Tarrant County College.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
  • Six (6) months of groundskeeping experience
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience operating fork-lifts and tractors

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships
