Position Overview:
Penn Presbyterian Medical Center is offering a PRN Clinical Pharmacist opportunity. The Department boasts a highly active Pharmacist Intervention Program where decentralized pharmacists engage with medical and nursing staff to promote rational and cost-effective therapy.
Additionally, the center successfully manages an Antibiotic Management Program.As a major teaching site for the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, several staff members hold adjunct faculty positions.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver comprehensive and quality medication management for patients at Penn Medicine, adhering to pharmacy practice standards.
- Review physician orders and dispense medications and pharmaceutical preparations to both inpatient and outpatient areas.
- Maintain accurate patient profiles while monitoring and managing drug therapies to ensure positive patient outcomes.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and students, ensuring the accuracy of their work prior to dispensing.
- Comply with Pharmacy Policies, Procedures, and organizational goals and objectives.
- Perform duties in alignment with Penn Medicine's values, policies, and procedures.
We invite candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
- Valid and active Pennsylvania license in good standing.
- Understanding of the Joint Commission and Department of Health processes.
- Strong communication skills with all levels of staff and personnel.
- Ability to perform dosage calculations.
PGY 1 Residency Graduate preferred, with 4 years of experience in an inpatient hospital setting.
